The 2008 Masters Tournament is one of the most highly anticipated golf tournaments of the year and is the pinnacle of the PGA tour. The Augusta National Golf club has been forever immortalized as well. Unlike other championships, the Masters is held every year at the same location - the Augusta National Golf Club. The Augusta National Golf Club, located in beautiful Augusta, Georgia is a prestigious private golf club. This highly private golf club has only 300 members at any given time and fees are reported to range from anywhere between $250,000 to $500,000 and membership is by invitation only.
The Masters was originally started by Clifford Roberts and Bobby Jones who also designed the Augusta national with the help of architect Alister MacKenzie. The course also showcases the beauty of Augusta, Georgia with hole names such as 'Pink Dogwood', 'Flowering Peach', and 'Magnolia'.
All of the legends dream of winning the Masters - not only for the prize money, which in 2007 was $7.25 million, but also for the coveted Green Jacket. Every member of Augusta National receives a green jacket - which is a sports coat with the club's logo on the left breast. The idea of the Green Jacket originally came from club co-founder Clifford Roberts, who wanted to be able to distinguish visiting patrons from members. The winner of each years Masters becomes an honorary member, and thus receives a Green Jacket. The winner from the previous year presents the new winner with the Green Jacket. The Green Jacket may only be worn on club grounds, with the exception of the current Masters champion. The tournament winner may wear the jacket off grounds for one year, but after that the jacket hangs at the club

- Everyone is requested to display the traditional customs of etiquette, decorum and behavior and to follow all Tournament policies, signs and verbal instructions of Tournament officials. Protests of any kind are forbidden.
- For the safety of everyone, and in keeping with policy established at major sporting events, running is considered to be improper behavior.
- In fairness to viewer access and viewing, only one stool/seat will be allowed per person entering the grounds. Seats in observation stands are not to be reserved and stools/seats are not to be unattended for any excessive length of time.
