Los Angeles Dodgers 2008 outlook
Get ready for the glory that is the Los Angeles Dodgers as they head into their 2008 season with a great 2007 to look back on as to their future batting performances. The Dodgers ended their 2007 season with 82 wins and 80 losses, and giving up an average of 4.5 runs a game.
The Los Angeles Dodgers may have lost their manager, Grady Little, who retired recently after quite a run with the Dodgers, but following him is now past Yankees manager, Joe Torre. Torre will definitely be a happy Dodger manager with his recently signed 3-year $13 million contract. Joe Torre will definitely be receiving a happy paycheck, but maybe making Dodgers fans even happier with all of the past experience he brings to the Dodgers. Twice, in 1996 and 1998, Little was honored as American League Manager of the Year. When the now Dodger manager was with his previous teams such as the New York Yankees, he has accumulated four World Series Championship wins.

Not only is the new addition of Grady Little as manager a great kick to the new season, but the Los Angeles Dodgers have hit quite a few great averages and numbers heading into this season. Not only were the Dodgers 3rd in the league last season with a batting average of .275, but they were also in the top ten or less in every pitching category.
As well as starting with some great numbers, the Dodgers are heading into their 2008 season with quite a few off field advancements. Not only are they gaining the talent of Joe Torre as manager, but they are gaining two great players to add to the Dodgers roster. Andrew Jones, who is coming from the Atlanta Braves with much talent to bring to the Dodgers, is a great addition to the team. Another key player is Hiroki Kuroda coming from Japan and a great strength for the Los Angeles Dodgers team.
As well as these two new players, those Dodgers coming back from last season are coming back with great strength after the talent they showed strong last year. Brad Penny ranked with a 3.03 ERA average in the last 2007 season, and young Chad Billingsley has definitely proved his strength through last season. Jason Schmidt, who was off the field since June of last year due to his shoulder surgery, is now healed and ready to play some ball and bring his own personal talent to the Dodgers team. As well, Jeff Kent is coming on to the field with rumors that this will be his last season, and that will definitely be giving him ammo to go out with a bang and make the Dodgers proud.
The Dodgers are definitely heading into their 2008 season with much buzz and hope from fans, and every game will definitely be an exciting experience for those in the audience and on the dugout as well. As well, the Los Angeles Dodgers are favored to with the NL West at +205, along with the strengths of Arizona.
