Roaring from the great city of Ashland, Kentucky on May 30, 1964 as Christina Clair Ciminella, the artist now know as Wynonna Judd was born to rock the stage. With a mother by the name of Naomi Judd, country music was in Wynonna's blood. As well as country music, the entire Judd family had a presence that was undeniable. Wynonna's half sister, Ashley Judd, is a double Golden Globe nominated actress.
Wynonna Judd started her career on the stage alongside none other than her mother as the mother-daughter duo, The Judds. They moved the nation with their teamwork and strong vocal talents together. From the years of The Judds, 1983 through 1991, the team tallied twenty-three hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts and made eight studio albums along with two Greatest Hits records.
It was on April 2, 1992 when Wynonna Judd hit the stage for the first time by herself. It was at the American Music Awards, and she wowed the audience with "She Is His Only Need". It was the first single she had released from her first solo record album release, Wynonna . The self titled debut hit multi-platinum five times over on the RIAA records and two times platinum on the CRIA. It as well hit number one on the US Country and Canadian Country music charts, and number four on the US Top 200 Hit List.
Without a doubt, Wynonna Judd knows how to work it and work it good. As well, Wynonna knows how to make an audience of hundreds of thousands go crazy for more, and that is what she gives them. With her avid work ethic, strong morals, a true love of country music, and an insane voice that is yet to be matched, it is no surprise that Wynonna Judd has reached the level of stardom and success that she is now at.
Wynonna Judd recently co-hosted the popular reality show, Nashville Star , alongside Cowboy Troy. 2006 brought about the release of Wynonna's first holiday studio album release, A Classic Christmas . The single, "Santa Clause Is Coming to Town," got up to number three on the AC charts. Currently, Wynonna is working on her seventh studio album, and being a mother.
