Istarting off in Jonquière, Quebec, Canada, VOIVOD has been going strong for over 2 decades. The band started off as a Punk-influenced Thrash band, and soon evolved into a unique combination of Metal and Sci-Fi that won them many fans. They even flirted with mainstream success at one point with “The Outer Limits,” but that was where they firmly stayed in the world of mainstream.

They had some cahandes in line-up until eventually, in 2003, they got their original singer (Denis Bélanger) back and on bass was Jason Newsted (ex-MetalLICA member). That line-up released the self-titled album and was poised to release more, but unfortunately, the irreplaceable Denis “Piggy” D’amour, one of the most unique guitar players in Metal, succumbed to colon cancer in August 2005. However, Piggy left the band a lot of demo material and apparently there is enough for three albums! The band assembled the music and here is the first album.

The band members now consist of Michel Langevin (drums), Denis D'Amour (guitar), Denis Bélanger (vocals), and Jason Newsted (bass). The band today continues to become popular in all places of the world.
