Tom Jones is one of the most popular vocalists to emerge from the British Invasion. He rose to fame in the mid-1960s, with an exuberant live act which included wearing tight breeches & billowing shirts, every form of popular music pop, rock, blues, r&b, show tunes, country, dance & techno in an Edwardian style popular amongst his peers at the time. The Senators then returned to their home ground of South Wales to play in smaller venues and bars, and that is when Tom Jones was noticed by London manager Gordon Mills, who saw what the world was soon to see in Tom Jones and took him back to London. This is where Mills gave Tom Jones his name, which only furthered his appeal that much more. This was the beginning of it all for the solo style of Tom Jones as we know and love him today.
