Soulja Boy History and Biography:
Soulja Boy was born July 20, 1990. His birth name is DeAndre Ramone Way and he goes by the stage name Soulja Boy Tell 'Em. His unusual rise to success stems from a motivation few artists possess or at such a young age. When he was just 14, Soulja Boy and his father moved from Atlanta to Mississippi were the young rapper began recording his music in his own studio. By the fall of 2005, Soulja Boy had released several songs on SoundClick followed by having his own pages on YouTube and MySpace.
His first album was recorded solo in his studio and was released in 2007. "Crank That", his first single, landed him a record deal with Interscope. That same year Soulja Boy's song was featured on Entourage and eventually made it onto the Billboard 100. His first label album, Souljaboytellem.com, released in October that year and reached #4 on the Billboard 200.
To date, Soulja Boy has released three albums and has been nominated for awards at the Grammy's, BET Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, Ozone Awards, and the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards. His latest album reached #4 on the Hot 100 and has only been on the stands since the end of 2008.
