At only twenty two years old, Solange Knowles is an actress, singer, songwriter, producer, model, and dancer. At first she was known as Beyoncé's youngest sister but Solange is making a name for herself in the music industry.

When she was 16, Solange Knowles' father who is also her manager, signed her to his company and began grooming her for a solo recording career. "Feelin' You, Pt. 2," her debut single, was released in late 2002 and reached Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart. Solange Knowles first album, Solo Star, was released in January 2003 and debuted in the Top 50 of the Billboard 200. As an actress Knowles appeared in 'Johnson Family Vacation' as well as 'Bring It On: All or Nothing'. She also models for her mother's clothing line, House of Dereon.

After a taking a brief absence to start a family and get married, Solange Knowles began working on her second album in 2007. Knowles signed a new record deal with Geffen Records and her new album started to take a new turn with a mix of elements such as hip-hop, R&B, with tinges of blues and jazz. The album includes appearances by Lil' Wayne and Bilal. The new album, titled Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, was released on August 26, 2008. It's first single, The Neptunes-produced "I Decided", has so far reached the top of the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales charts. Received with positive reviews Rolling Stone called her new album 'awash in the sounds of early Seventies soul and cocktail funk, with retro-flavored tracks'. Solange plans to tour the country to promote her new album.
