Psapp Biography:
Psapp (sap) is a London-based duo; an experimental electronica band. The band consists of Carim Clasmann and Galia Durant, whose mutual passion with odd noises and heart-stimulating pop has resulted in a sound that cunningly slips between genres, dabbling with electronica, as well as electronic folk and jazz. | |

Carim Clasmann is a veteran engineer and producer with talents that have taken him all over Europe working with the likes of Einsturzende Neubauten and Natacha Atlas. Psapp’s friendly German geek met up with Casio fanatic Galia Durant a year ago, glowing a fresh wave of creativity and ideas. They got to work in their toy-scattered Kings Cross studio, racing against an eviction order from the landlord.
The Psapp is a dusty, cosy, otherwordly realm; a clutter of home-made toys, doll’s house, somnolent cats, glinting laptops, and countless knick-knacks of mysterious origin. The melody of their instruments holds equal sway in Psapp’s dizzy, rapid motion of sonic power.
The outcomes of Psapp’s music are no less than thrilling, oblivious and also rather entertaining. Carim’s production skills, Galia’s fondness for warm hooks, pretty high occurrences and original word thoughts.
Psapp have released four Extended Plays: Do Something Wrong, Rear Moth, Buttons and War and iTunes exclusive, Early Cats and Tracks. They have three albums: Northdown; Tiger, My Friend; and The Only Thing I Ever Wanted. Some of their songs have been used in hit American TV shows like ‘The OC' and ‘Nip/Tuck’ as well as ‘Sugar Rush.’ They also composed the main theme on the hit medical-drama TV series, ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’
“Tick tack toe, you're fitting into place
And now the old ways don't seem true
Stick stop blue you're only changing i
In the same old space you always knew
Tip top ready for the rocket
And I'm tip top ready to go
Tip top ready for the sky
And I'm tip top ready to go, go go
Come, come, fly into my palm
And collapse
Oh oh, suppose you'll never know”.....lines taken from a song entitled, Cosy in The Rocket from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Soundtrack by an awesome band named, Psapp.
