Matt and Jon stormed the Nashville music scene in 2001. Matt had his hit band Silent Friction, and when SF broke up they remade musical connection with Bob to form The Pink Spiders in late 2002. In 2003 they took the Nashville music scene by storm again, and by January of 2004, the band recorded their first album The Pink Spiders are Taking Over!, as their first EP. They signed with CI Records in the summer of 2004. The band toured nonstop on the record, battling the chaos offered by life on the road. One show included their trailer catching on fire in Buffalo, but the band slept in New York city subways when they had nowhere to crash. A mere three months after the record was released, several major-label offers were on the table, and in April of 2005, the band signed with Geffen Records. The Pink Spiders have since been named as one of Alternative Press' "100 Bands you need to know in 2006.”
The Pink Spiders are one of the headliners on the Vans Warped Tour 2006. The Pink Spiders are also releasing their debut album Teenage Graffiti in August 2006. The Pink Spiders' single, "Little Razorblade", debuted on MTV's Total Request Live as a premiere.
