Led Zeppelin's Priorities
Guitarist Jimmy Page, 64, who hails from Epsom, was keen to do the tour this year and was backed by bass player John Paul Jones, 62.
However, singer Robert Plant, 59; already worth an estimated £70million; apparently wants to concentrate on his new success with US country singer Krauss.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: “Jimmy enjoyed the concert in December enough to want to tour, “John sided with Jimmy. Robert put the mockers on the tour.” O2 arena's website crashed when 25million fans tried to register for tickets after the announcement of Led Zeppelin's comeback gig in September. The gig, originally scheduled for November 26 was postponed until December after Page fractured his finger.
It only shows that Led Zeppelin is still strongly admired by its fans and supporters.
