On the 28th of January, Monday, Jimmy Page the guitarist of Led Zeppelin held a press conference in Shinjyuku, Japan at the Park Hyatt Hotel. During the press conference, the plans on having a world tour was mentioned by Jimmy Page who also believes that his band, Led Zeppelin, can still perform very well. Led Zeppelin has proven their unfailing talent on the benefit tour, Ahmet Ertegün Tribute Concert that was held in London on December 10, 2007. It was the first reunion of Led Zeppelin as the group disbanded after the death of John Bonham. During the London tour, Led Zeppelin was joined by the late Bonham’s son, Jason, who played the drums.
The London tour was indeed successful as the promoter claimed that one million people registered for fewer than 20,000 available Led Zeppelin tickets. This is one of the reasons why Led Zeppelin is being pursued with offers from Live Nation and AEG. The promoter claimed that one million people registered for fewer than 20,000 available tickets.
As the press conference led to expectations of a Led Zeppelin World Tour, Jimmy Page stated that he was ready to take the outstanding band on a world tour, but not sure about the schedule yet.
Led Zeppelin wants to show their great music to the youth who never had a chance to see them live. They want to reach out and share their talents to the youth and to those who used to be their supporters back in good old days.
