Kiss and Motley Crue Announce Summer 2012 Tour!
Kiss is one of the number one recognized rock bands in the world. Founded in 1973 out of New York , the group has sold over 100 million albums world wide and forty million albums in the U.S. Kiss has been awarded twenty eight gold albums, holding the record for most gold albums of any U.S. Rock Band. Branded for their black clown-like wigs, signature face make up, leather get-ups, and hedonistic performances that have included in the past smashing guitars, spitting blood, fire breathing, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, pyrotechnics, and more, Kiss is easily considered one of the founding fathers of the eighties rock and roll hair bands. Kiss has won one Grammy and has been on countless “Top” lists, including VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, MTV's Greatest Metal Bands, Hit Paraders Top 100 Live Bands, VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, Gibsons 50 Greatest American Rock Bands. They have also been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.   Motley Crue, while not quite as long-standing as Kiss, has enjoyed an equally lucrative and successful career. Founded in 1981 by Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, the band is currently led by lead singer Vince Neil and includes guitarist Mick Mars. Motley Crue has sold more than eighty million albums world wide including twenty-five million in the U.S. Almost proportionately equal worldwide to Kiss if you count how many years each band has been around. They recently celebrated their thirty-year anniversary with their thirty-first tour in October 2011. Now Motley Crue will be touring yet again all of June 2012 before teaming up with Kiss.
