At the ripe age of 61, Jimmy Buffett is back on stage in his 2008 "Year of the Still Here Tour". It seems as if Jimmy Buffett has been able to pull off a tour yearly since 1976, and he isn't showing any signs of slowing down, with much appreciation by all of his dedicated and devoted fans who are just waiting for him to grace their local venues with his remarkable talent and stage presence.
Jimmy Buffett seems like he has done it all: singer, songwriter, author, businessman, humanitarian, producer, and all around coined a world in love with the utopia of "Margaritaville", which was placed as number 234 on the "Songs of the Century list". Jimmy Buffett is not planning on retiring anytime soon, either.

Born in Pascagoula , Mississippi , Buffett has stories and stories to tell for years from his Kappa Sigma fraternity days at the University of Southern Mississippi , to his after-graduate gig as a Billboard magazine correspondent. Near the end of the 60's Jimmy Buffett started his escalating, never ending path into the music world in Nashville , Tennessee as a country artist.
Even through scandals of allegations that Buffett was caught carrying over 100 ecstasy pills in 2006, getting kicked out for cursing in an arena during a Miami Heat/New York Knicks basketball game, and the many allegations of marijuana possession, it only makes fans draw that much closer and more fascinated with the way Jimmy Buffett lives, and how he talks about it-he went on The Today Show days after the basketball game fiasco- he does it with such a way that you can't help but fall in love with him and through his music. As well, there even became a coined term "Parrothead's" many referred to Buffett super fanatics. Not to mention the amazing following "Margaritaville" had on the world, and the country music scene to come, which owes a lot to Jimmy Buffett as a pioneer. Jimmy Buffett went on to launch Margaritaville Records in 1993, and his book Tales from Margaritaville spent months on the New York Times Best Seller fiction list.
With his seeming clockwork-like tours driving in more money and fan support than his actual albums, Jimmy Buffett and the live performances of his, the concerts he put on were becoming quite popular in the music lovers world.
