Born in Heidelberg, Germany on October 9th , 1948 as Clyde Jackson Browne, Brown's father was a serviceman and mother, Beatrice Amanda, a Minnesota native with Norwegian ancestry. When his family moved on over to Los Angeles, California it was then in which Jackson Browne started to get the musical itch for folk tunes. He started playing in dive bars around town. 1966 brought Jackson Browne his first experience working with others in the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Soon enough, people took note of Jackson Browne's magnificent talent and art for songwriting. He started writing for many, and scored a contract with Nina Music. Artists such as Joan Baez, Tom Rush, the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, and Steve Noonan among many others performed his work. There was a brief moment in which Jackson Browne headed on over to the East coast for some time in which he lived in Greenwich Village in New York. He did some work with Tim Buckley and some other projects, but soon enough he headed on back to the Southern California life, where he has been since.
From singing and songwriting to playing the guitar and piano, there aren't many things Jackson Browne can do wrong. As well as his amazing presence on stage and through all of his work, he is as well just as active of stage and out of the studio with his large impact on environmental activism and raising awareness and help in supporting Tibet and the human rights situations there.
