Born Britney Jean Spears on December 2, 1981, Ms. Spears climbed the highest ladder of success at a young age, selling 83 million records worldwide, 37 of which were before the age of 20, fell from grace hard in the public eye, being scrutinized for her personal life, and continues to prove that her success is her choice. It seems whenever Brittany decides she is tired of the harsh rumors and cruel paparazzi, she puts her money where her mouth is and releases another platinum album or schedules another sold-out tour.
Raised in Louisiana , Spears was fed on performing antics. By the age of nine she was an accomplished gymnast, winning competitions. At age eight she attended N.Y. Cities Professional Performing Arts School and auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club. At the time, Spears was too young. She had her first appearance on national television when she was 11, when she won the 1 st round of Star Search. Finally, she made it into the Mickey Mouse Club from the ages of 12 to 13.
At age 16 Britney Spears joined the pop group Innosense, and as a result, was signed by Jive records. After being signed by Jive, Brittany 's world-level of stardom took off. Booking the opening act for her then boyfriend Justin Timberlake's group, ‘N Sync, and fellow boy-pop-group sensation Backstreet Boys, the pop princess began setting musical records.
Britney Spears has had 6 tours to date, with her latest album Circus touring in 2009. It is nice to see Britney in a positive light after years of endless media cruelty. Beginning with her early relationships, first to Justin Timberlake, then her 55 hour marriage to a childhood friend, the public judged her personal life.

She does have two beautiful sons from that relationship, Sean Preston and Jayden James, but it has been bittersweet; embattled with a hit-and-run and driving with no license that resulted in mandatory rehab, parent counseling, Spears temporarily lost custody from October 1, 2007 until July 18, 2008.
During her child-custody nightmares, Spears went through some dark personal challenges, infamously shaving her head after a less-than-24 hour stint in rehab, and then re-admitting herself to a different clinic.
