Born as William Kenneth Alphin on November 1, 1963 in the great city of Culpeper, Virginia, the artist is known now to fans everywhere as Big Kenny. Many know him from the all too familiar country music group Big & Rich. Along with John Rich, the boys of Big and Rich have recorded a total of three studio albums that have been topping charts over and over again.

It is hard to believe that back in the 80's Big Kenny career path was running a real-estate company by the name of Alphin Development. It was going well for him until the early 90's real-estate recession. With much that's to fans everywhere, Big Kenny took the opportunity to head on out to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his desire to be a country music star. He started off with his solo career under the name Big Kenny Rocks.

Nashville did not bring fame and fortune to Big Kenny right away, seeing as he had decided to get into the musical industry well into his 30's whereas most of the competition had been trying to kick off their music career since their single digit years. Big Kenny put out his first solo record deal, which went nowhere.

But then came into the picture a man who called himself Rich. With must dissatisfaction in hearing of the up and coming artist by his own name of Big Kenny, Rich was taken by a friend to check out his show at a local Nashville club. The boys didn't hit it off to well at first, but both accepted that they would do well working together in the future. It didn't get too far at the beginning, but once they got together it was pure country music magic in the making.

Big Kenny and Rich definitely brought out the best in each other, and the world of country music lovers everywhere took note. Their first single together, "I Pray for You" was used by Rich as his first solo single, but the boys didn't team together till the good old nights of their dueting Muzik Mafia in a small bar in Nashville every Tuesday night. World caught on about the tag team of country talent and amazing chemistry, and the audiences snowballed week after week until it turned into a singing of Big & Rich with Warner Bros.
