Ani DiFranco Live Concert - Video
At the age of nine, it is hard for many to remember anything but the sandbox and naptime. But not for Ani DiFranco, because at the age of nine Ani was covering Beatles songs with Michael Meldrum- who taught her guitar- at local bars. She knew from a very young age her passion, and didn't let anything stop her from pursuing it and fans around the world thank her endlessly. Even through many tough times, such as self proclaimed bisexual Ani DiFranco married Andrew Gilchrist, sound engineer. Much of her lesbian fan base felt betrayed, but Ani DiFranco continued to rock it and churn out hit after hit, and no one was complaining about those diamonds.
Even though Ani DiFranco has had many setbacks in her life path, through loved ones passing and health issues, never did she quit. She took time off, but she never stayed down for long. With these traits and that voice of such beauty and talent, Ani DiFranco has been honored with many awards, one of which being "Woman of Courage Award" which was awarded to her at the National Organization for Women in 2006. As well, her album Evolve won her a Grammy Award in 2004. Oh yah, it was one of her nineteen albums she has released throughout her successful career, yes count that nineteen.
Ani DiFranco definitely has that rare spark and talent that comes along too far and few between, which just goes to prove by the experience of seeing her live. The audience is electric and hanging on the every word, every note, and every verse. No matter how big or small you are into it, the experience is something you cannot not feel throughout your whole body.
