Dust off your Australian love, because the Melbourne, Australia origin duo by the name of Air Supply will be on tour throughout 2008. That is right all of you soft rock with a little something extra fans, because that is exactly what Air Supply in known for and never fails to deliver to their fans and audiences everywhere.
Making up the members of Air Supply are vocalist and guitarist Graham Russell as well as lead singer Russell Hitchcock. Russell was actually born in Nottingham, England, but the two met when they were both a part of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Time Rice's masterpiece musical Jesus Christ Superstar in 1975. It was later on this same year that the two came together and joined forces to create the magic that is Air Supply.
At the beginning, Air Supply was a five man group with the likes of, throughout the ages: Chrissie Hammond, Jeremy Paul, Frank Esler-Smith, David Moyse, Rex Goh, David Green and Ralph Cooper. In the end it is Russell and Hitchcock who have stayed strong and together to keep the legacy alive and the duet that Air Supply now is. Yet, at the beginning of the five-man group's beginning, they took the world by storm and everyone fell in love with their first single, "Love and Other Bruises". After they saw this success and a few band member changes, Air Supply came out with their first debut album, Air Supply . Needless to say Australia took to it like kids in a candy jar. Air Supply was hot, and it all started in 1976. Another rather amazing fact about Air Supply that goes to show their dedication to their fans and their music is that since that first year they have almost continually released new albums on a yearly basis, and sometimes two a year. The Future , which was released in 2007, is the latest album released, which is the first solo work that Graham Russell ever worked on. It sold like hotcakes, and only makes the Live Air Supply 2008 Concert Tour that much more anticipated and leaving fans counting down the days till the duo head to the city nearest them.
