Coming from Tottenham, London , England on May 5, 1988, the now twenty-year-old singer by the name of Adele Laurie Blue Adkins has been blowing audiences everywhere away with her old soul coming from such a young woman. It all started when she performed in front of her first audience in grade school to the Gabrielle song, Rise . It was then and there that the artist known as Adele realized her passion in life was to be on the microphone. Even though at the time Adele faced a small humiliation factor when performing Rise , seeing as her mother decided it would be cute to have her daughter wear an eye patch on stage to resemble the performer. But that didn't stop Adele from delving even farther into her musical passion.
She was influenced at an early age by the works of artists such as Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald. As well, Adele graduated from the same performing arts school as fellow alumni's Amy Winehouse, Katie Melua, Leona Lewin, Iomgen Heap and Katie Nash to name a few. IT was after she graduated for the BRIT School in Croydon in May 2006 that Adele that she was already publishing two songs and playing gigs all over the UK . It was just recently that Adele kicked off her first live UK headline tour in October of 2007.
Seeing as she has already had such a large influence on many millions and billions of adoring fans, it seems as though Adele has been in the scene for all of less than three years. Already she has become a chart topping hit sensation with singles such as “Chasing Pavements”, “Cold Shoulder”, “Hometown Glory”, “Tired” and “Make You Feel My Love”. As well, Adele has a growing list of award nominations and wins that is only going to get longer with the coming years and amazing talent she still has in that beautiful mind of hers. Adele walked away with an Urban Music Award win for Best Jazz Actress, a Woodie Award nomination for best video in “Chasing Pavements”, an MTV Video Music Award nomination for best choreography for “Chasing Pavements”, a Mercury Prize best album nomination, a Q Award breakthrough act nomination, a MOBO Award best UK female nomination and a BRIT Award win for critics choice. Then there are the four Grammy Award nominations she received this 2009 all for “Chasing Pavements”.
There is no doubt about it, Adele know what she is doing, and how to make beautiful blue-eyed soul, and jazz mixed with some pop, R&B, indie, and neo soul all rapped into one beautiful musical experience after another through each and every piece she releases.
