2011 Houston Texas Bowl Game History:
The Texas Bowl, previously called the Houston Bowl, has been an annual College Bowl Game since 2006. It matches the Big 12 or Big East against the C-USA or MWC team. The Houston Bowl lost its sponsor in 2005 and was unable to pay the $600,000 it owed to the Big 12 and Mountain west conferences.
Houston Reliant Stadium Background and Information:
Built in 2002, Reliant Stadium is the Texas Bowls $352 million home. It has incredibly striking architecture and design, with the first retractable roof ever to be used in the NFL. Reliant Stadium is built to accommodate 71,500 fans with 1,900,000 square feet in size. Its enormous size was built to accommodate the Superbowl in 2004.
The stadium offers 7,000 club seats and 166 luxury suites. There are multiple lounges and bars spread throughout the facility.
