A couple was named Wichitan of the Year at the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce & Industry’s economic forum. The couple was Phil and Aurora Bolin who were married in 1945.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Aurora Bolin is a naïve of Saratoga, Texas who has taught piano in public schools and private lessons. She served on the board of the Wichita Falls Museum and Art Center, chairman of the Spring Fling committee, the board of the Woman’s Forum and as president of the Junior League of Wichita Falls. On the other hand, Phil Bolin of Graham, who graduated in the University of Texas, was involved in politics, and serving on the State Republican Executive Committee and as a delegate to the state convention. Furthermore, Phil was on the football team at the University of Texas and played in the 1944 Cotton Bowl
