Kings Vs Rangers Stanley Cup Preview

Kings Vs Rangers Tickets

KINGS VS RANGERS

After defeating the Chicago Blackhawks in one of the entertaining Western Conference Finals in years, the Los Angeles Kings have advanced to their second Stanley Cup Finals in three seasons. The Kings will face the New York Rangers, who upset the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round and then defeated Montreal to reach their first Stanley Cup Final in twenty years. By virtue of a better regular season record the Kings will have home ice advantage, hosting the opening game at STAPLES Center on Wednesday night. Here are some key factors to watch in this year’s Stanley Cup Finals:

The Doughty Factor: While Ryan McDonaugh of the Rangers has put himself in the conversation of the top defenders in hockey, the most dominant defenseman in this year’s playoffs is Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings. Doughty was the top defenseman in this year’s Sochi Olympic Games, winning a gold medal for Canada, and he’ll have an opportunity to pull off the Gold Medal/Stanley Cup title if the Kings can defeat the Rangers. Doughty is a leading candidate for this year’s Conn Smythe Award as the top playoff performer. A true two-way star, Doughty can dominate a game both offensively and defensively. Like all great players, he’s known for scoring big goals at critical times. In 21 postseason games, Doughty has 16 points. Doughty has formed a winning combination with second-year player Jake Muzzin.

King Henrik: It’s unusual for Jonathan Quick to be seen as the lesser goalie in a playoff series, but that’s the case in this year’s finals. While Quick has played well overall in this year’s playoffs, he’s had his ups and downs at times, including several stretches of rough play versus the Blackhawks. While Quick’s overall numbers don’t compare to his epic stats in the Kings 2012 title run, he’s helped the team go 7-0 in elimination games this playoffs. Quick opposite number, Henrik Lundqvist, has added to his legend with an outstanding playoff performance thus far. In twenty games this postseason Lundqvist has a 2.03 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. Like he has his entire career, Lundqvist has been a dominant force in net. The Kings will have the firepower advantage in the series, but Lundqvist can be the great equalizer, with the ability to steal games. If Quick can match the Rangers goalie shot for shot the Kings will be in good shape.

KINGS VS RANGERS

Home Ice Advantage: The Kings will have the rare luxury of home ice advantage versus the Rangers, something they didn’t have during their 2012 run or during this year’s run. While they haven’t been dominant at STAPLES Center at times, witness two losses versus Anaheim in the second round and a loss to Chicago in game six, the Kings will have the advantage of a boisterous home crowd to set the tone. The Kings home ice advantage may offset the additional amount of rest the Rangers have after eliminating Montreal in six games. When New York visits the STAPLES Center on Wednesday they will have had three extra rest. Of course additional rest doesn’t necessarily translate to quick starts. If Los Angeles can start quick and win two at home they’ll be in a good position to shorten the series with a win in New York in game three.

Marian Gaborik: While the rest of the Kings team struggled at times in the opening round versus San Jose and the first few games versus Anaheim, the Kings were receiving a dominant performance from veteran Marian Gaborik who they acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the trade deadline. Gaborik spent a handful of years in New York as a Ranger before he was dealt to Columbus as part of the Rick Nash trade. The finals will give Gaborik a chance to win his first cup, while exacting some revenge on his former team. Gaborik has formed a dynamic partnership with Anze Kopitar this postseason. Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Gaborik are three of the top four scorers in this years postseason, indicative of just how dominant the Kings offense has been at times.

So who wins? The Kings have shown an extraordinary amount of mental toughness in overcoming deficits to win all three series, with game seven victories on the road in all three games. Offensively they’ve had an extra gear this postseason, becoming a truly dynamic offense. Los Angeles has an advantage over the Rangers in every facet of the game other than goaltending. While Henrik Lundqvist has an advantage in goal, Jonathan Quick can dominate games when playing up to his potential. The Rangers have made a nice run, but it’s been in the weaker Eastern Conference. Their victory over Montreal in the Eastern finals was helped greatly by the Carey Price injury. The Kings are simply the better team.

Kings take game four against Blackhawks

LA Kings Vs Blackhawks

KINGS 5 HAWKS 2

After another dominating victory the Los Angeles Kings are now on the brink of another visit to the Stanley Cup Finals, their second in three seasons. Behind a three-goal first period barrage the Kings jumped on top of the Chicago Blackhawks early and never looked back, winning 5-2. For nearly two seasons the Blackhawks, and goalie Corey Crawford, had the Kings number defensively. In three straight impressive victories the Kings have turned it all around, scoring fifteen goals in the past three games for a commanding lead. With the series returning to Chicago for a game five, the Kings will now have three opportunities to eliminate Chicago.

Monday’s win was another impressive display off both offensive and defensive hockey. The Kings, known for their defense, have become the top scoring team in the playoffs, while still playing efficient and effective defense behind a veteran unit of blue-liners and goaltender Jonathan Quick. Jake Muzzin, Marian Gaborik and Dustin Brown all scored in a six-minute stretch of the first period, giving Los Angeles a 3-0 lead and eventual victory. Drew Doughty and Tanner Pearson would also add score in the second and third periods as the Kings preserved their three goal lead. After largely getting the balance of their offense from the Kopitar and Gaborik line in the opening round against the San Jose Sharks, the Kings have become a balanced offensive juggernaut versus Chicago, with offense coming from nearly every line and the defense. Los Angeles now has eight players with double figures in points this postseason. Goaltender Jonathan Quick made 22 saves in the victory.

The Kings offensive barrage is particularly surprising since they were the lowest scoring team to make the postseason. After trailing 2-0 late in game two in Chicago, the Kings have scored 13 goals in just over 100 minutes of hockey, a dominating performance that has the Chicago Blackhawks looking for answers. In accomplishing this offensive outburst the Kings now may have the mental edge on Crawford, a player who’s consistently stymied them in recent seasons. Crawford stopped just sixteen shots in the loss.

Blackhawks Vs LA Kings

CRAWFORD

The Blackhawks will now have to fight their way back from a 3-1 deficit, something they accomplished last season versus the Detroit Red Wings. Coming from behind two games will be a tall task versus a confident Kings team. Last year’s Blackhawks and Red Wings matchup was an opening round one versus eight affair, not a Western Conference Finals. In order to beat the Kings the Blackhawks will need to find some confidence on defense, something that has seemingly evaporated as they’ve been outscored 15-7 over the last three games. Chicago will also need offense from Patrick Kane, who’s managed just one point in the series. Kane’s struggles have been mirrored by Bryan Bickell, a hero in last year’s postseason who had a sub-standard regular season and has struggled this series, with only a goal on Monday night.

Game five is Wednesday night in Chicago at the United Center.

Preview LA Kings Vs Blackhawks Western Conference Finals

Kings Vs Blackhawks Tickets

KINGS Vs HAWKS

In the first two rounds of the playoffs the Los Angeles Kings have successfully fended off six elimination games. After trailing 3-0 to the San Jose Sharks in the opening round the Kings roared back two win four straight, including the clincher on Sharks home ice. In round two the Kings overcame a 3-2 series deficit to defeat the Anaheim Ducks, again clinching on the road. In defeating the Ducks the Kings once again proved their resiliency and championship pedigree. The defeat of Anaheim sets up a rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals with the Chicago Blackhawks. A year ago the Blackhawks defeated the Kings 4-1 on the way to their second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons. The Kings and Blackhawks together have won three of the last four NHL titles. With Boston and Pittsburgh eliminated in the Easter Conference, the winner of the Western Conference will be the heavy favorite to take home the cup.

Here are five things to watch in the upcoming Kings and Blackhawks matchup:

Kings Vs Blackhawks

CRAWFORD Vs QUICK

The Battle between the Pipes: Good goaltending wins Stanley Cups and both the Kings and Blackhawks have elite goaltenders in Jonathan Quick and Corey Crawford, the winning goalies on each of the last two Stanley Cup winners. Jonathan Quick has been dominant at times this postseason but he’s also struggled at times. Los Angeles will need the dominant Quick throughout the series. He’s one of the rare goaltenders that can steal a postseason game. If he can avoid a rough stretch, like in the opening round versus San Jose, the Kings will be in good shape.

Recent History: Chicago has won nine of the past eleven meetings between the two clubs, including the 4-1 defeat in last year’s playoffs. The Blackhawks also dominated this year’s season series, going 3-0-1 versus Los Angeles this year. History is clearly not on the side of the Kings, but it wasn’t on their side when they came back versus the Sharks in the opening round. Chicago will enter the Western Conference final on four days rest while the Kings will have just a day of rest. The lack of rest may be a benefit for the Kings who having the confidence of a dominant victory over the Ducks in game seven.

The Gaborik Factor: Marian Gaborik has added an extra element to the Kings attack this season, with nine goals thus far in the playoffs. He’s built a dynamic partnership with Anze Kopitar. Gaborik and Kopitar are the two leading scorers this NHL postseason, with a total of 34 points between them. In a postseason where Mike Richards and Jeff Carter have struggled to score goals, the Kopitar and Gaborik have given them a dynamic additional element.

LA Kings Staples Center

STAPLES CENTER

Defend home ice: The Kings have shown the ability to win on the road in the playoffs, winning five combined road games in the opening two rounds. Unfortunately they’ve also shown a propensity to not win on home ice. Los Angeles is 5-3 away from STAPLES Center, but just 3-3 at STAPLES Center, including two losses at home versus Anaheim in the second round. To defeat the Blackhawks the Kings will have to steal a game at United Center, while defending their home ice. The key is coming out with the urgency they’ve shown in road elimination games versus San Jose and Anaheim.

Production from the Kings Youth: Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli are two impressive young players who’ve made a great impact during the postseason. Like Gaborik, Pearson and Toffoli give the Kings some added speed and quickness. The Western Conference finals versus Chicago are a big spot for a young player to perform in. If the Kings young talented forwards can produce they might be a big factor in the Kings success.

Who Will Coach The Lakers?

LA Lakers New Coach

?

Mike D’Antoni confirmed the inevitable on Thursday by resigning as the Head Coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. In a national NBA news cycle that’s been dominated by the Donald Sterling controversy the Lakers were once again, briefly, the story nationally. Finishing out of the playoffs with another potential season of rebuilding upcoming, the Lakers now have to find a head coach to replace D’Antoni that can restore success in Lakerland while ushering the team into a new era. Several names have been bandied about already, with the two coaches who faced off against each other in the recent NCAA title game at the top of the list. Kevin Ollie and John Calipari seem to be the two most talked about candidates, but there will be others. The next Lakers coach will be a big decision and the franchise needs to correct the mistakes they made during the previous two hires of Mike Brown and D’Antoni. Now more than ever, it’s essential that the Lakers reclaim their place among Southern California NBA fans.

LA Clippers Vs Spurs

DOC

One big reason the next hire is important is the direct result of the Donald Sterling controversy. When NBA commissioner Adam Silver made the decision to fine Sterling $2.5 million and push to force him to sell the team he not only created a big sigh of relief among Clippers fans, he also created a scenario where the Clippers popularity could potentially explode. For the last thirty seasons under Sterling’s ownership the Clippers had been a disaster of a franchise. Poor decisions, poor luck and a bad owner created a franchise with little success, a punching bag for many nationally and an easy win for the cross-town Lakers. Prior to coming to the STAPLES Center the Clippers played in front of sparse crowds at the Los Angeles Sports Arena as they typically finished at the bottom of the division. In the last few years, despite Sterling, the Clippers have become a Western Conference power behind the play of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul and, this season, the tutelage of Doc Rivers. This recent success has always been despite Sterling, not because of Sterling.

Now with Sterling potentially out of the picture the Clippers suddenly have reached a higher level of awareness nationally. They’ve become a feel-good story with several high profile figures being discussed as potential bidders for the franchise. These names include Magic Johnson and Oprah Winfrey, as well as Oracle Corporation founder Larry Ellison. Ellison, worth $50 billion, put in a losing bid to buy the Golden State Warriors five-years ago. Ellison has the money and some potential high-profile partners in Winfrey and David Geffen. Suddenly, should someone like Ellison buy the team, the Clippers have the potential to emerge as a much more popular franchise both in Southern California and nationally.

Los Angeles Lakers Tickets

COACH WANTED

This brings us back to the Lakers. Due to their incredible history the Lakers will never become Los Angeles’s “other” team, but they do risk losing part of the casual fan base or emerging fans to the STAPLES Center rivals. The Clippers are a talented bunch who should contend for the foreseeable future, while the Lakers are likely to struggle again next season. For these reasons it’s essential the Lakers make the right choice in who they hire as their next head coach. Both Ollie and Calipari, if they are the top choices, are interesting options. The big question is whether or not Ollie and Calipari are the right choices to help attract potential free agents and maximize success out of the roster.
Whoever the next head coach of the Lakers is, he’ll have a big job on his hands.Chris M

LA Kings Force Game 7 Against Sharks

LA Kings Vs Sharks Tickets

SHARKS VS KINGS

After a third consecutive victory the Los Angeles Kings are on the brink of accomplishing what only eight other NHL teams have done, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win a seven-game NHL playoff series. Justin Williams scored twice to propel the Kings to a 4-1 victory over the visiting San Jose Sharks, evening the opening round NHL playoff series at three, and setting up a highly anticipate game seven on Wednesday night. The two teams will play a seventh game in a playoff series for the third time in four seasons in one of the best playoff rivalries in recent history.

SJ Sharks Tickets

SHARKS BENCH

Tied at one heading into the third period Williams scored his second goal of the game at the 11:56 mark. Williams was able to knock home a loose puck that wasn’t quite controlled by Sharks goaltender Alex Stalock, much to the chagrin of Sharks head coach Todd McLellan. The Sharks head coach thought Stalock, making his first start in the series, had sufficiently controlled the puck. In a comment indicative of how desperate things have become for San Jose McLellan said after the game that “We (Sharks) got cheated”. The two teams were deadlocked in a tight 1-1 battle at the time. Replays were inconclusive, but did indicate that the puck wasn’t completely controlled. Trying to corral the puck as it slipped behind Stalock, Sharks defender Matt Irwin may have accidentally knocked it in. The decision to start Stalock was predicated by the poor play of Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi. After solid play in the first three games of the season the playoff inconsistency that Niemi has shown in years past, especially against the Kings, returned at the worst time possible. Stalock kept it close, but after the Williams go ahead goal the Kings were able to blow the contest open. As many predicted goaltending is becoming a story in the series. After a slow start in the first three games Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick is proving once again that he’s one of the elite netminders in the NHL. Quick has allowed just one goal in the last two games of the series, won by Los Angeles with a combined 7-1 score.

After Williams scored his second goal of the game to give the Kings the lead for good, Anze Kopitar scored two goals in a one minute and fifteen seconds span to put the game away for good. Kopitar notched his second and third goals of the series and has now scored in all six games of the series. Kopitar provided the assist on Williams’ second goal, giving the Kings captain three points. Drew Doughty added two assists for Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Kings Tickets

MIKE RICHARDS

The Sharks played without top defender Marc-Edouard Vlasic, out with an upper body injury. Vlasic’s availability will be a big question mark as the two teams head into game seven. Who Todd McLellan plays in net will also be a big factor. Stalock is an unproven playoff performer with just 27 regular season appearances under his belt. The decision to stay with Stalock or go back to Niemi will be a big storyline as the series moves into its final game.

Game seven is Wednesday night at the Shark Tank in San Jose. The winner will move on to the second round to face the Anaheim Ducks.

Let the Clippers Vs Warriors Playoffs Begin

Clippers Vs Warriors Tickets

CLIPPERS Vs WARRIORS

In one of the most eagerly anticipated first round playoff series the Los Angeles Clippers will face the Golden State Warriors in the opening round of the NBA’s Western Conference playoffs, starting Saturday at STAPLES Center Saturday, with game two scheduled for STAPLES Center on Monday night. The Warriors, who finished sixth in the Western Conference playoff standings, were dealt a major blow this past week when starting center Andrew Bogut suffered a fractured rib.

The Clippers are coming off of their second consecutive Pacific Division title and the top record in team history. After a disappointing exit at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies in last season’s playoffs the Clippers, with Doc Rivers at the helm, enter the playoffs with high expectations. The Clippers success has created major expectations in Los Angeles that the team is primed for a finals run. When star point guard Chris Paul went down with an injury early this year, power forward Blake Griffin took his game to the next level, garnering attention as a potential dark horse MVP candidate. In Paul and Griffin the Clippers have two established superstars, arguably two of the top ten players in the NBA. With the return of JJ Redick the Clippers are also healthy for the first time in several months, with the entire starting lineup intact.

The series will be defined by the point guard matchup between Chris Paul and Warriors superstar fourth-year forward Stephon Curry. Curry has nearly unlimited range and along with Klay Thompson forms the premier shooting backcourt in the NBA. Curry, arguably the best three point shooter in the history of the NBA, is the catalyst for the Warriors offense, constantly pushing the basketball with the ability to score from the outside and in transition.

Clippers Vs Warriors Tickets

CLIPPERS Vs WARRIORS

Due to Golden State’s unique home court advantage at Oracle Arena it’s important for the Clippers to get off to a fast start at STAPLES Center, not letting the Warriors steal a game before the series heads to the Bay Area. With Bogut out due to injury the Clippers will have an advantage inside with Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Veteran Jermaine O’Neal will be forced to play extra minutes alongside David Lee inside. Lee is already a weakness on the defensive end, and the Warriors interior defense will suffer mightily without Bogut, who is a strong presence on the boards and as a shot blocker. The Clippers extraordinary depth, which includes Matt Barnes, Darren Collison, Jamal Crawford, Jared Dudley and Danny Granger off the bench gives them depth advantage. If they can exploit their depth through an up-tempo style they should be able to offset the firepower of Curry and Thompson.

Prediction: The loss of Bogut will have a major impact on the series. The big Aussie is a major presence inside and the Warriors interior defense will suffer without him. The Clippers tremendous overall depth, as well as the coaching of Doc Rivers, should overwhelm the Warriors. Clippers in five.

Even with losses in four of their last five games the Los Angeles Kings held on and earned the 6th position in the NHL playoffs, finishing two points on top of the Minnesota Wild. The Kings 6th place finish has set up one of the most eagerly anticipated first round playoff matchups, a rematch of last year’s second round series between the Kings and the San Jose Sharks. Last season the Kings defeated the Sharks in seven spirited games, a series were the home team won each matchup. By virtue of an outstanding regular season the Sharks will have home ice advantage.

LA Kings Vs Sharks

KINGS VS SHARKS

Season Series: The Kings held the advantage in the season series between the two teams, three games to two. The Kings won one of the three games played in San Jose, a 1-0 shutout by Jonathan Quick on January 27th. The Sharks won the last game between the two teams, a 2-1 win on April 3. Other than a 4-1 Kings victory on December 19th all of the games were decided by a goal, indicative of just how closely matched the two teams are. The tight games in the season series mirror last year’s playoff matchup in which all seven games of the series were decided by just a lone goal.

San Jose Sharks- who to watch: The Sharks feature a deep roster of veterans that has been together through several playoff appearances. The aging combination of Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are still strong performers along with young stars such as Joe Pavelski, Logan Couture and Brent Burns. Pavelski led the Sharks in scoring this season with 41 goals, while Marleau contributed 33. Right Wing Brent Burns, a former defenseman, and Couture give the Sharks tremendous size and speed up front with both scoring over 20 goals this season.

Kings Vs Sharks Staples Center

KINGS Vs SHARKS

Why the Kings will win: The Sharks had a better regular season, but the NHL playoffs are a whole new season and the Los Angeles Kings are built for the playoffs. Stanley Cups are won with good goaltending and the Kings have an advantage in net with Jonathan Quick. Quick has proven time and time again that he performs best in pressure situations and should have the advantage over Antii Niemi. Niemi had a strong overall regular season but has struggled in the month of April. The Sharks will need their veteran goaltender to be in strong form. Offensively the Kings have benefited from the acquisition of Marian Gaborik, a trade deadline pickup from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Garborik has scored 15 points in 18 games as a member of the Kings, giving their offense an additional component. The key for Los Angeles is earning a victory in San Jose to wrest home ice advantage away from the Sharks.

Prediction: Kings in six.

No Service Fees - Barry’s Ticket Service never had service fee’s and never will. The price you see is the price you pay with no hidden fees or charges at the end.

Help there is a problem with my tickets! Gone are the days where you would receive a hard ticket to the event that your going to. Tickets are now on regular paper which does ad a convenience for you to print out when you like but also leads to people buying a ticket and making a bunch of copies and selling them over an over again on sites where they can upload their tickets, craigslist and even Ebay. While all three try and stop fraud its usually after the fact that they can catch it. Barry’s Tickets buys inventory through trusted sources, season seat holders as well as our own inventory of tickets. We never buy “paper tickets” off the street or over the internet. All our tickets come with a 100% guarantee to be authentic and delivered on time.
