Best Place To Sit Kings Ducks Dodger Stadium

Stadium Series Dodger Stadium

Stadium Series

With the success of the NHL Winter Classic, which this year pitted the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings in front of over one-hundred-thousand at the University of Michigan football Stadium, the National Hockey League has greatly expanded the number of outdoor games. This year the burgeoning tradition will include a unique matchup between the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium. The Southern California game will be held on January 25! You can purchase Kings Vs Ducks Stadium Series Tickets Now!

Where is the best place to sit in Dodger Stadium for the Stadium Series Game?

Kings Vs Ducks Tickets Dodger Stadium

Since there hasn’t been a hockey game at Dodger Stadium yet it’s a bit tough to say exactly where the best seating location for the Kings Vs Ducks game is. It is also a personal preference as to where you like to sit for a hockey game. Some people like to sit as close to the action as possible while others like a higher view as to be able to see actual plays develop. Others like the action coming at them so they prefer to sit behind the goal and just have too look forward the entire game.

The the reserve level at Dodger Stadium will give you what seems to be a great overview of all the action going on. Loge should give you a great view as well. For people who like to be closer down of course Field Box is the way to go.

The Dodger Stadium contest will feature the team with the best record in the National Hockey League, Anaheim, and the Los Angeles Kings, winners of the 2012 Stanley Cup. The red hot Ducks, behind the superstars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, lead the NHL with 75 points and are currently on a seven-game winning streak. Getzlaf and Perry are fourth and sixth in the NHL in scoring with forty-eight combined goals between them. They’ve helped lead one of the NHL’s most dynamic offenses and will be a stern test for Jonathan Quick and the elite Los Angeles Kings defense.

The Kings have had a solid season fighting through several key injuries including losing their All-Star goaltender Quick for nearly two months due to a groin injury. Los Angeles boasts a deep roster of talent including one of the top defensive corps in the NHL. The catalyst for the Kings success is Quick who returned from his injury on January 8th. The Kings are currently sixth in the Western Conference with 61 points, well within striking distance of Chicago and Anaheim for the top seeds in the conference.
Anaheim and Los Angeles will meet at the Honda Center on Thursday, January 23rd, two nights prior to the outdoor game. The doubleheader will give the Kings golden opportunity to make up ground on the Western Conference leaders immediately, adding additional intensity to the rivalry between the two Southern California teams.

The NHL will utilize technology first used during an outdoor game in Las Vegas in 1991. The Kings also played in the Vegas game in 1991 and despite temperatures that reached 85 degrees the ice held up the warm conditions. Like in Las Vegas the game will be played at night to mitigate temperature issues. Over the past several years the league has perfected the technology behind their portable refrigeration equipment they use for the outdoor games. The game at Dodger Stadium will reportedly be able to seat as many as 70,000 people, creating unique memories for Los Angeles hockey fans.

After starting the week with a 3-2 shootout loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings at Honda Center the Anaheim Ducks headed off on the road to face two elite Central division foes, the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues. Playing in two of the toughest opposing stadiums to win in the Ducks took care of business and swept the Blackhawks and Blues to wrap up a solid week of hockey. With the victory the Ducks ret-took the lead in the NHL’s Pacific Division, two points up on the San Jose Sharks.

Week Recap: Tuesday night the Ducks lost a tough one to the Kings at Honda Center on Dwight King’s shootout goal. Anaheim had goals from Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Perry’s third-period goal, his 16th of the season, gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead before Dustin Brown scored for the Kings to send it into overtime. The two teams were scoreless in the overtime period, leading to the shootout and the eventual Kings win. With a couple days off to rest the Ducks visited the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night and defeated the champs 3-2 in a shootout. Captain Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist in the victory with Corey Perry notching the Ducks other goal, his 17th on the season. The Ducks had the difficult task of traveling to St. Louis to face the big and talented Blues club on the second night of a back-to-back. The Ducks jumped out to a 4-0 nothing lead and never looked back in routing the Blues behind two goals from Andrew Cogliano and a goal each from Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. The two Ducks superstars have now scored in three consecutive games. Getzlaf and Perry are now 3rd and 5th respectively in the NHL in scoring and goals scored. They are clearly living up to the big contracts they signed last season.

The Week Ahead: The Ducks have three at home this coming week against the New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers. The Islanders, led by fourth-year star John Tavares have struggled this season, as have the Edmonton Oilers and their collection of young talent. If the Ducks can take care of business and knock off the Islanders and Oilers they can perhaps put some distance between them and the Sharks in the division race. The Wild, led by last year’s free agent signees Ryan Suter and Zach Parise are in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race with 39 points on the season. They’re a well coached and disciplined team. The Ducks will look to continue their perfect home record. Other than two shootout losses Anaheim has not lost a regulation or overtime game at Honda Center this season.
Where they stand: With 45 points Anaheim is two points up on the Sharks for tops in the Pacific Division and is tied with the Chicago Blackhawks for the best record in the Western Conference and the entire NHL.
