SHANGHAI–DeAndre Jordan scored 15 of his 18 points in the first half and the Clippers defeated the Heat, 99-89, Sunday in the finale.
Blake Griffin added 13 points and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes and Chris Paul, making his preseason debut, scored four points with six assists.
The Clippers play the Heat at the Staples Center on Nov 14th.

 Dwight Howard Los Angeles Lakers Four years ago at the trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers made what was considered a blockbuster move — they traded a package centered around Marc Gasol (although at the time we thought it was Kwame Brown) for Pau Gasol. Pairing him with Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to three straight finals and two NBA titles.
After tonight, Pau Gasol may be offensive option No. 4 on the Lakers.
To what is certainly the frustration and consternation of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and other owners (nice competitive balance), the Lakers have had the best offseason they have had since 1996 (getting Shaquille O’Neal and drafting Kobe Bryant). The Lakers were able to work trades for both point guard Steve Nash and the most dominant center on the planet today, Dwight Howard.
The Lakers are now the team best positioned to challenge the Miami Heat for the NBA title, they can match up in raw talent. And with real strengths at point guard and center — the two weakest links of the Heat — Los Angeles may well be the best team in the NBA.
Acquiring Dwight Howard is another bold move for the Lakers, just what we’ve come to expect from a franchise that measures success in championship rings.
So Howard is coming off back surgery and might not even be ready to start the season? So what? The Lakers don’t do Novembers. The Lakers do Junes. This is who they are.
Stay Tuned, this could be an amazing season in Los Angeles.

 USA Dream Team 1992 Vs 2012 The fundamental 1992 Dream Team set the gold standard-both literally and figuratively-for Summer Games basketball. Kobe stated the 2012 Dream Team could beat Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and the rest of the 1992 group. Is he right?
Miami Heat LeBron James, LA Laker Kobe Bryant and Thunder Kevin Durant head line the latest edition of the “Dream Team,” one that will defend Team USA’s World and Olympic championships in basketball at the Olympic Games in London.
Much has been made about the current team’s weak frontcourt. The 1992 team had 4 players who grabbed at least 15 percent of available rebounds in 1991-92 (Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, David Robinson).
The present team has about three players at that rebound rate last season (Tyson Chandler, Clipper Blake Griffin, Grizzlie Kevin Love). The 1992 team had two players (Ewing, Robinson) who blocked no less than 5 percent of the shot attempts they faced in 1991-92. No 2012 player had a block percentage greater than 3.4 last season (Chandler).
The 1992 team was about 2½ years older on average (28.8-26.2). Other than Bird and Magic, every Dream Team member was 30 years old or younger. Each member of the current team is 29 or younger, apart from Kobe, who is 33. But the NBA experience level is about the same.
The 1992 team had, on average, 7.3 years of practical experience per player. This year’s team has 7.1. The 2012 version has seven championships among them, carried by Kobe’s five. LeBron and Chandler each have one. The present team has members of each of the past four NBA champions, while the 1992 team had members of the then-past two champions.
There’s no assurance the 2012 team wins the gold medal this summer, but LeBron, Durant and Kobe could probably rampage through the other teams at the 1992 Olympics relatively conveniently.
The 1992 Dream Team involved greats such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson among others. In all 11 Hall of Famers were on the team.
The latest 2012 U.S. Olympic basketball team consists of superstars such as Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony.
Conclusion
2012 team has looked strong during its very first two games at the London Olympics 2012, and you can anticipate to see more of the same during Team USA vs. Nigeria as the team continues its bid for a gold medal. This year’s team may be preferred to bring back the gold from London, yet compared to its counterparts who took Barcelona by thunderstorm in the summer of 1992, the 2012 team appears at the silver podium.

Just in case their roster wasn’t loaded with enough star talent, the Miami Heat have added the NBA’s all time leader in 3-point field goals, Ray Allen, to their championship squad. The Heat won it all last year with defense, athleticism, and a constant attack the rim mentality. The one thing that could’ve been considered lacking for them was their outside shooting. It’s starting to look like that won’t be the case anymore with Allen on the court. There may not be a spot for Ray in that ridiculous starting line-up (he’s fine with playing behind D-Wade and LeBron), but he knows that it’s not about if you start the game. It’s about whether you finish it; where you are during crunch time. Ray will certainly be on the court during crunch time. He’ll be just one more option (and a pretty good one too) to knock down any crucial last-second shots.
In addition to Allen, the Heat have also signed free agent Rashard Lewis. Depending on what he has left, the two-time All-Star could also help spread the floor and knock down those outside jumpers, something he’s done his entire 14-year career. Nobody can say the Heat aren’t a deep team anymore. With the addition of these two veterans, the bench just got a whole lot better.
With the impressive showing Mario Chalmers had in the playoffs last year, and the addition of 10-time all-star Ray Allen, should we just go ahead and start calling them the Big Five?

 Deron Williams Brooklyn Nets Deron Williams was the leading free agent this offseason, and now that he has decided to return to the Brooklyn Nets, other teams will have to re-evaluate their alternatives.
Deron Williams is returning to the Nets. He announced on Twitter that he has agreed to a five-year, $100 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets. Williams, the top free agent available, decide to stay with the Nets over signing with the Mavericks, who hoped they could convince him to come back to the area where he grew up. It’s a enormous triumph for the Nets as they get ready to move into the new Barclays Center to start the 2012-13 season.
They have been extremely productive since the start of free agency on July 1. They traded for Joe Johnson and are rumored to be in talks with the Orlando Magic to bring Dwight Howard to Brooklyn.
Deron’ choice comes a day after the Nets agreed to a deal with Atlanta for All-Star guard Joe Johnson, and among reports they are still hoping to make a deal with Orlando for Dwight Howard. Brooklyn also has a deal in place to re-sign versatile free agent forward Gerald Wallace.
Williams will be the centerpiece of a decent nucleus in Brooklyn. Joe Johnson will be his backcourt mate, and Gerald Wallace will start off at small forward.
Williams averaged 21 points and 8.7 assists last season and had a 57-point game. One of the league’s major point guards since entering the NBA as the No. 3 pick of the Jazz in 2005, he was ahead of his rivals when last season started after playing in Turkey through the lockout.
The Nets now have three former All-Stars in the lineup – Deron, Joe and Gerald Wallace – and are prepared match any offer for restricted free agent Lopez. The wild card is Howard.
Just 2 years after a 70-loss season, the Nets will have one of the NBA’s greatest backcourts and are poised to make a quick move up the Eastern Conference standings. Williams will cause the rest of the dominoes to fall as he was the top guard and overall player in this summer’s free agency class.
Williams didn’t always seem to appreciate playing in New Jersey, with the Nets spending the past two seasons in a temporary home in Newark. But he should really play in front of packed crowds in Brooklyn as the most important attraction at the Barclays Center.

 Steve Nash Los Angeles Lakers Espn.com is reporting that the Lakers have a greed in terms to a 3 year sign and trade deal for PG STEVE NASH. Nash broke the Phoenix record for all time assists and is 5th in the all time NBA list.
The Suns will receive 2013 and 2015 first-round picks and 2013 and 2014 second-round picks from the Lakers, according to the Arizona Republic.
The deal can’t be officially completed until July 11, when a leaguewide moratorium on new business is lifted.
There are also rumors that Nash will try hard to convince Grant Hill to sign with the Lakers.

 Lamar Odom Los Angeles Clippers Lamar Odom, one of the most sympathetic but enigmatic characters in L.A. sports history, returns to team with which he started his NBA career. It might be amazing, it might go bad, or it could be just simple strange.
With Mo Williams finally deciding Friday to exercise his $8.5-million contract option, the Clippers and Dallas Mavericks were able to agree to a four-team trade that will bring Lamar Odom (32) back to the Clippers team that drew up him in 1999.
Odom will earn $8 million for the 2012-13 season, but the Mavericks could have bought out his contract for $2.4 million by Friday if Dallas didn’t find willing trade partners in L.A. and the Utah Jazz.
In December 2011, Odom was traded from the Lakers to the Mavericks, though he was dropped just several months later after he failed to perform.
Staying in Los Angeles will mean a lot more than a career boost and extra family time for the NBA forward — it also means that he and Kardashian, 28, will be able to make starting a family of their own a top priority. The Clippers had some trepidation about getting Lamar, because of his awful season and seemingly disinterested attitude in Dallas last season after he demanded a trade from the LA Lakers, who tried to move him in an attempt to land point guard Chris Paul.
However the Clippers had any worries allayed after Coach Vinny Del Negro and President Andy Roeser both met with Odom on Thursday at the team’s practice facility in Playa Vista.
Like many Clippers fans, seeing Odom for the first time was an experience – it was just like love at first sight. He played every position and no position, all at the same time. He sailed around the court effortlessly, never showing up out of place. Odom was tall and athletic and qualified, but most significantly, he was smooth. He was cool without even trying – a state every 14-year-old desperately tries (and fails) to achieve.
This is a fantastic trade for the LA Clippers, who need to strengthen their bench depth to make a much deeper run in the playoffs next year. Odom should really be satisfied to be back in Los Angeles, even if it’s not with the Lakers. Odom’s past playoff results will be a valuable addition to a young Clippers team that has minor championship experience.

Kevin Durant buried the go-ahead 3-pointer with 13.7 seconds remaining as visiting Oklahoma City took a commanding 3-1 lead over Los Angeles in their Western Conference second-round series.
Durant’s long-distance dagger over Lakers swingman Metta World Peace capped a 31-point, 13-rebound performance. Russell Westbrook added a team-high 37 points as the Thunder ended a 14-game playoff losing streak to the Lakers in Los Angeles.
With the score tied in the final minute, the teams traded sloppy turnovers: Westbrook fell and fumbled the ball, while Durant picked off an errant pass at the other end. Durant then ragged time off the clock before coolly knocking down a 25-footer from the top of the arc, silencing the capacity crowd at the Staples Center.
Kobe Bryant misfired on a 3-pointer at the other end – capping a 2-for-9 fourth-quarter shooting effort – and Thunder guard James Harden secured the rebound to put the game away.
Bryant led all scorers with 38 points for the Lakers, who will look to stay alive with a win in Game 5 Monday night in Oklahoma City.
Bryant had 16 first-half points – highlighted by sensational back-to-back layups to end the second quarter – as the Lakers led 56-46 at the break. He added 10 points in the first 6 1/2 minutes of the third quarter to keep Los Angeles in front by double digits, but Durant responded with a 3-pointer following a Westbrook miss as Oklahoma City went on a brief run to trim the deficit to 74-67.
Bryant quelled the Thunder surge with a tough layup following an offensive rebound, then knocked down a long 2-pointer at the buzzer to finish with 15 points in the quarter as the Lakers carried an 80-71 edge into the fourth.
World Peace preserved the lead with Bryant on the bench, drilling a pair of 3-pointers to make it an 11-point game – but the Thunder hung around, riding nine straight points from Westbrook to close to within four with just over four minutes remaining.
Durant completed the comeback with a mid-range jumper and a Kendrick Perkins putback of a Westbrook miss – Perkins’ only field goal of the game – capped a 20-5 run that gave Oklahoma City a 98-96 advantage

 Lakers Vs Thunder Game One THUNDER 119, LAKERS 90: Russell Westbrook scored 27 points and Kevin Durant added 25 as host Oklahoma City trampled Los Angeles in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.
James Harden scored 17 points off the bench for the Thunder, who showed no signs of rustiness from an eight-day layoff after sweeping the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.
Westbrook added nine assists and seven rebounds and Durant grabbed eight boards before each took a seat for the fourth quarter.
Game 2 will be played Thursday night in Oklahoma City.
Andrew Bynum had 20 points and 14 rebounds and Kobe Bryant scored 20 points to pace the Lakers, who were playing two days after closing out Denver and wilted after a fast start. Metta World Peace finished with 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter.
The Thunder seized control in the final 3 1/2 minutes of the second quarter, getting five points from Westbrook in a 9-2 spurt to take a 59-44 lead into halftime.
The Lakers had erased an 18-point deficit to beat the Thunder at the end of the regular season, but Oklahoma City opened the second half with a 9-0 blitz to ensure there would be no comeback.
Durant scored eight points and the Thunder hit their first seven shots in the first four minutes of the third quarter to build the lead to 77-48.
The lead peaked at 35 points for the Thunder, who buried 12 of 17 shots in the quarter to turn it into a 98-68 rout entering the final 12 minutes.
