NBA Basketball: Cleveland Cavaliers History

The NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers were founded in 1970 in Cleveland , Ohio . Initially they began participating in the NBA as an expansion team and in their first season they earned the title of being the worst team in the NBA with a record of 15 wins to 67 losses.

In 1975, under a new head coach, the Cavaliers made it into their first NBA Playoffs; not bad for a team that was then just five years old. During the 80's the Cavaliers maintained their progress, making it to nine playoffs in ten years.

For a decade during the 1990's, the Cavaliers struggled again. However, the arrival of LeBron James helped to turn their team around.
