Have the Lakers found their way to go?

Los Angeles Lakers score a big win against the Oklahoma City Thunder
And suddenly we can see light on the end of the tunnel. Or have already exited this long tunnel of the season? Believe me, if it took only a couple of tweaks in our game to win against the league leading Thunder then we can be confident that we will see a different Lakers team in the remainder of the season.

So finally, we are starting to use all of our powers, we get more guys involved and this is really great. Because now, with Kobe being our lead play-maker the last couple of games, our opponents will have to watch their backs on every possession and guard each player tight. It looks like we are now starting to realize the huge talent we have in this team. I don't really know if it was Coach Mike D'Antoni who decided to make those small changes or if our players planned it in one of their meetings, but they worked and they worked well. Not only we win games but you can see that our playing style has become more proper. Up to now we did the same mistake that many teams did in the past when they had some superstars in their roster, loading the ball only to them. Take the Miami Heat as an example. During their first year of the Big Three, they used to isolate Lebron and Wade and if they had some nights off they simply couldn't get it to go. We did that also with Kobe but in an excessive amount. Why should he take 30 shots per night anyway? We all know what a great scorer he is and that he can lead us to our greatest victories but, hey, don't forget we have Dwight, Nash and Gasol in our team. Why not use them to bring home the W? Kobe just showed us that his greatness is not just his scoring. He can adjust his play in our team's needs. His 14 assists for the second consecutive game in combination with his fewer shot attempts put our team in a position to win. In fact, apart from Kobe, 5 other Lakers finished in double digits. Durant had one of his usual nights when he starts banging one shot after another, but we managed to contain our opponents to a point that gave us the upper hand.

It is one thing to win the Thunder and it's another thing to maintain this high level of performance, on both ends of the floor. We surely made some big steps forward, after digging our hole almost the entire first half of the season. Now it's time to focus, clean our minds from our previous bad habits and continue our great work, so we can secure a playoff spot. Once we enter the playoffs, the season's winning record will be well forgotten.

Looking for something to do on Valentines Day? How about a romantic night at the Staples Center when the the Lakers and Clippers Collide in the next battle for LA.
